Tokkok Monkeys

(Politicians step out of their cars to ponder effects of fuel price increase. Deputy head monkey: Change your lifetsyle la dei!"
No slur intended on the monkeys by using their image. Sorry brothers. Photo courtesy of TV Smith)

I received quite a few comments on the last post, Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush. Good comments too. I thought that I'd post them up as a blog so that we can share with all the visitors to Tokkok. If some of it don't make sense you'll have to go read the original comments la. Sorry ah.

blinka.li, what is "people 5mins chicken poo poo heat also u so kek sim". I don't get the connection la.

Great idea, egghead. How wonderful if all work can be done from home. Using a national high speed fibre optic network. On that thought, wasn't there some project some years ago to lay fibre optics throughout the country? What happened to that ah? No subsidies issit? Another Malaysian pipe dream?

You're right, Cronoz. With all that's happening the old Kamikaze Mini busses don't seem such a bad alternative now.

Ya, KK whenever these things happen the politicians instead of sympathising with the poor long suffering raayat and informing them of what is being done to alleviate their problems, they start spewing 'advice'. And the thing that always pisses me off is the tone of language they choose to use. Patronising us like little children while they drive about in their fuel guzzling Mercedes Benz's and BMW's. And it's 4.4 billion they save. Not 1 billion.

Eh, anonymous, I think you should keep your 1982 Proton la. Gen-2 may bring you more problems. LOL. And if you said what you wrote to our DPM or any other menteri they will quickly tell you that a minister's pay is not that much and that they too suffer like every other member of the Malaysian raayat. Yeah, right.

F**K the DPM? Oh dear, wani, wani, wani. What language! LOL. But I am sure you'd have to stand in line for that though:-)

Good point, nimble. That's one thing that I can never understand. Why former public services that have been privatised and which report record profits year afer year need to increase rates? If they were so profitable in the first place why were they privatised out of public hands? Well...that sentence sort of explains itself doesn't it? What is the point of privatising something that's not profitable?

fireangel, your equation sent a chill up my spine. MAS = public transportation. Is it just coincidence that MAS needs RM4 billion to get out of the shit house? Oh my gawd!!!

After all is said and done, it is the ordinary, totally screwed Malaysian who is to blame for all that's happening to him. Years of apathy have given rise to a series of administrations that know just how easy it is to pull the wool over his eyes. Even now, most of us are just moaning and groaning for a while before we go back to our 'cari makan' attitude ..."Hiyah! Can make money enough lor. Waffor want to trouble leh?"

Until the next fuel/power rate increase la. Then we talk somemore.

Okay lah, I got to go cari makan now. Eh! You pay the teh tarik ok? By the way, the teh tarik smelt like shit la. Ha? Ammonia only issit? Never mind la. You pay ah.

Wingz, we dont really have much choices in so far as the options are concerned. Kinda like "between the devil and the deep blue sea". If we chose the "bulan" we all could end up having to have gender differentiated queues in public, etc.

Well, those Tenaga boys are currently jumping up and down not from ecstacy but fuming becos the gahmen decided to KIV their request for tariff hikes until a more thorough study can be made on the impact. I just hope they don't end up hiring another RM7K per day CON-sultant like they did is a certain public transportation provider, to do this study. They could just hire one of us here for the price of a shitty-smelling cup of teh tarik to tell them the same result.

Then again, the blardy end result of a study could well have 2 versions. 1 "for" and increase whereby they justify the higher tariff to cover for better cashflow enabling them to pay for capital expenditures as the countries energy needs are ever increasing. This brings me to the point of having those IPPs(Independent Power Producers). The whole rationale of having IPPs is so that Tenaga need not be burdened with the high capital involved in setting up new power plants.

Well, the second version "against" the tariff increase is probably never going to see the light of day...err....made public.

As a parting thought, at least we don't have to deal with the GST/VAT until further notice from our gahmen.

nimble: gahmen don't give notice. they hint here and there only.

uncle patrick, what i meant is whatever gahmen plan, they see short term only (short sighted kut).soon the interest would be something else. macam budak main pasir! who suffer, us lor...

oh, i mopped the house today. now my whole house smell like shit!

careful, dont choke on your teh tarik ah!

aiyah, uncle patrick, you have to forgive my french(tee-hee). MAS a public transport? wow i just knew! ( the result of living in segamat for nearly 3 years) no wonder their loss is so banyak. yesterday i went to mamak for teh tarik (i'm back in kl for the weekend, btw), just like you said, it smells like shit.

You've just insulted the monkeys. How could you?

I was dumbfounded by our DPM's remark again in today's Star. He told rakyat jangan job-hop wor. I said..Helloooo!!! U garmen keeps increasing petrol price which everything will follow suit as a result except gaji..so where on earth am I going to find more money to cope with my simple life ah? I think he is high on drugs lah.

Mr Teoh, the problem here is everyone has finally had enough of arbitrary decisions by an unaccountable (but elected) government. However, we do not YET have a viable alternative in this country as our Opposition is in shambles and do not have a credible agenda and I wouldn't trust them with my carkeys let alone my life! Be that as it may, I am sure we Malaysians will show the resolve to pull through and those who really can't take it, the more capable ones that is, will emmigrate. And the show still has to go on. I am so fearful for my beloved Tanah Tumpahnya Darahku now, more than ever, my friend.

Ann, I just apologised to the simian cousins.
kk, the DPM and all his other cabinet colleagues have nothing better to do than to irritate their electorate with their patronising advice.
adrian, I too am sure that Malaysians will do something although that something is more likely emigration than anything else.

i dont think it's right to tell us to change our lifestyle. the price hike should be done with contingency plans in place to not burden us in any way.

as for ministers taking public transport, when i was in Stockholm last year, i was told that some of the Swedish ministers used to take public transportation to work, trains, buses, etc. they were only told to stop when one minister got run over by a car and killed, and another was shot or something.

With all due respect allow me to "masuk campur" in this blog. To Mr. Patrick Teoh " diharapkan tuan memperkenankan dan izinkan saya untuk masuk campur akan hal ini". hehehe.. alright back to manglish. Haven't we realise that all this fuel hike and MAS is "lingkup"ing, is due to many global event, mainly from US of A. Itu, Mr. Bush manyak celaka punye orang tau, pasal die fossil fuel naik tak tentu pasal, all because he has X amount of share in the fuel business. For goodness sake, he is a bloody texan la. Confirm nak tolong orang kampung die.Think abt it, during Bill Clinton era u dont see any of this unjustice and all.He merely concertrated on internal affairs.Hardly touch anything abt the world.Bile Anak Bush jadi president, semua tunggang terbalik. So you can see, its affecting our countries tremendously, u notice that many riots and problems occur in our region was due to the fuel prices.Indonesia dah tgh migraine, kite plak baru nak kene pening.I hope that with this fuel hike, we wont be the tamak orang malasyia anymore.Asyik2, mintak handout.Suruh bikin duit tak mau.Memang tak gune orang macam nie.Another thing, all our public service staff are very kampung like ppl, pikir nak keje senang je.Nak cakap tak educate kang marah but itulah realiti, only can think abt themselves. They dont think the things they do have a overall effect on the nation. An example is that, pasal air klu dah tau u keje dgn JBA buat la elok2. U minum air, i pun minum air, if u a JBA employee and can make a different, then do it.Bile dah kene, baru nak take action.Itula rakyat malaysia, semuanye last minute. Another thing is that, we are all human after all, klu orang buat salah tegur bagitau, jgn simpan. Its bad for health and otehrs as well.As for the DPM and cabinet issue, give them a chance to rectify them.Baru kene rombak la beb, man man la... Ape gune nak emigrate, u will also face almost an identical problem.Jangan samekan negara kite dgn yg lain, because we are a united country with many different culture and religion in which we can harmonise seamlessly without any major or minor problem. U go overseas, i tell u, u will face many problems that you take for granted in Malaysia. Jadi rakyat negara sendiri bukan pendatang asing ke negara lain. To all who that's gonna read this comment, think for the solution not fuel the problem. Lastly, to Mr. Patrcick Teoh do email me if you want ask anything.

the part where the ministers board on lrt for function really intrigued me la. really... couldn't imagine ministers clad in their well pressed batik standing in the lrt laughing, chatting and saying hi to people who gave them the friendly nods as if they board on the train on a weekly basis... and one well known datuk actually stands up and gives up his sit to a senior citizen with a pair of weak legs and moves further up to join his fellow minister friends and the the chat continues....

really najib, standup comedian suits you better... afdlin shauki might as well be dying to hire you after this

I'd like to reply to the following comment from little sandhurst: "U go overseas, i tell u, u will face many problems that you take for granted in Malaysia. Jadi rakyat negara sendiri bukan pendatang asing ke negara lain."

My friend, you have no idea how much I'd love to be a rakyat negara sendiri - IF my negara would let me. Unfortunately, my country treats me like a second class citizen. So what do people like us do? Do we settle for being second best? What if we had the opportunity to go some place where we could work hard and be more than second best? You tell me...

Hi adiba. I have never seen a minister in any other mode of transport other than they big Mercedes Benz's. I daresay neither has Najib. I wonder how many of the cabinet ministers including Pak Lah and Najib have ever been on public transport other than taking joyrides for photo ops.

Hi Ann. Well said. Little sandhurst is merely part of the growing breed of ostriches who believe that bad as things may be here it is and always will be better than ... Ghana. Some of us feel like second class citizens. Sure in other countries there will also be discrimination but there are some of us who believe that there if we work hard we can become the best there is and be recognised for it.

Little Sandhurst said...

Hi, Ann. well the things that confuses me is that.what is 2nd class citizen? how do we categories 2nd class citizen? Even so, our country baru nak keluar dari 3rd world.Tak sempat nak bau 2nd world. so my point is we are still way behind. Why do we assume our country is 1st world nation? So, try to strive for the best! If u keep thinking abt the government treating you like a 2nd class citizen mayb its becoz u put urself there.Asyik complain je, tapi tak nak buat perubahan untuk diri sendiri ape gune. try look for a solution.

Mr. Patrick Teoh, wat you say is true. i believe that what is bad here but still better than other places. so i will try to protect watever left of the sovereignty of malaysia.we work hard and be the best has always been the remedy for most of our problems in life.just that sometimes, we gotta be alittle more positive and look on the big picture on the events thats happeing arnd.tabley, asyik blame ministers but unless terang2 kurang pandai then kasi "tabur" sampai jatuh.heheh anyway, to all no hard feelings on me... sorry if any problems caused.

Yes Patrick - emmigration is the solution. Esp if our country don't appreciate us, then why stay? are we gluttons for punishment? Surely not! Yes, things are not as bad as they are in Rwanda, but why look so far? I hate to say this - but look at blardey Singapore! Their very existence shows 'what could have been' for us Malaysians. Look at our standard of living, healthcare, education, defense ... ABYSMAL for an oil rich, mineral abundant, fossil fuel packed and timber covered country! AAAGhhh!! I am pulling all my hair out. Nah, Najib! Take and transplant this to your head!!!!!

If Little sandhurst doesn't understand what being a second class citizen is all about, he should look around, talk to people, and really listen to what they have to say, and more importantly, to what's left unsaid.

This is nothing to do with whether one is living in a first, or second or third world nation. And if you don't understand that, then my friend, stay in your ivory tower, lock the door and throw the key away.

According to you, "If u keep thinking abt the government treating you like a 2nd class citizen mayb its becoz u put urself there.Asyik complain je, tapi tak nak buat perubahan untuk diri sendiri ape gune. try look for a solution."

Wow. Very impressive. If you're an aspiring politician, you're doing a good job - you know, shoot the messenger and all that.

I have never considered myself a second class citizen and I'm pretty sure none of the poeple who understand what I'm talking about think that about themselves either. So it's rather presumptuous of someone who admits to being confused to make such sweeping comments.

Little Sandhurst said...

Kalau cik ann doesnt think she is a 2nd citizen, then why bring up the issue of being treated like so.hmmmmm agak mengelirukan.the things is if we were to consider casting ourselves with certain classes, then baik kite buat perlembagaan baru je la.of course, i dun understand being a 2nd class citizen, cos i dun want to as it doesnt add up to anything.it is good to listen, talk and look around what ppl have to say and show, then digest them properly to come up with a solution to know what is right and wrong.bukannye terus cakap "i'm treated like a 2nd class citizen" just because something doesnt go ur way, bayangkan je keadaan begitu.well, at least we know that we are all human after all, makes mistakes and all.org yg memenrintah kite pun manusia, nak salahkan mereka pun harus tgk diri sendiri dulu.tak gitu?

ade tokoh jadi ahli politik heheheheh.... takpela lain kali je la.
